BLS Update for GP Practices

This practical course is designed for GPs, nurses, and non-clinical staff who require regular CPR and resuscitation training.

In line with Resuscitation Council (UK) and CQC standards, all primary care organisations must ensure that staff are confident and competent in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in an emergency. Sessions are tailored to your team’s size, schedule, and time constraints.

Course content includes:

  • Adult, child, and infant CPR and AED use

  • Unconscious casualty management (recovery position)

  • Choking recognition and management

  • Anaphylaxis management and auto-injector use

  • Emergency equipment (oxygen, airway adjuncts)

Duration: 1-3 hours (depending on group size and available time)
Assessment: Continuous trainer observation and feedback
Certification: Respire Medical Services certificate valid for 1 year
CPD: Recognised as 1–3 hours of verifiable CPD

BLS and Medical Emergencies for Dental Practices

This interactive course is designed for dentists, dental nurses, and the wider dental team, providing the knowledge and confidence to manage both life-threatening and common medical emergencies within the dental setting.

In line with Resuscitation Council (UK) and CQC guidance, dental teams should complete resuscitation and medical emergencies training at least annually.

Sessions can be delivered on-site and tailored to your practice needs. The emergency drugs kit and equipment can also be reviewed to ensure everything is in date, complete, and appropriately stored.

Course content includes:

  • Adult and child Basic Life Support (BLS) and AED use

  • Choking recognition and management

  • Acute anaphylaxis and auto-injector use

  • Emergency equipment (oxygen, airway adjuncts, emergency drugs)

  • Recognition and management of asthma, diabetes, syncope, seizures, and myocardial infarction

Duration: 1–3 hours (depending on group size and practice requirements)
Assessment: Ongoing trainer observation and feedback
Certification: Respire Medical Services certificate valid for 1 year
Optional: Review of emergency drugs and medical equipment during the session
CPD: Recognised as 1–3 hours of verifiable CPD

BLS Update for Health Professionals

This comprehensive course is suitable for a wide range of health professionals, including physiotherapists, chiropractors, podiatrists, chiropodists, and others who require regular CPR and emergency response training.

All sessions are delivered in accordance with the latest Resuscitation Council (UK) protocols and CQC standards. Training can be customised to meet your organisation’s specific needs and professional scope.

Course content includes:

  • Adult, child, and infant CPR and AED use

  • Unconscious casualty management

  • Choking recognition and treatment

  • Anaphylaxis management and auto-injector use

  • Heart attack (myocardial infarction) recognition and response

ECG Training for Primary Care

This practical, interactive session is designed to help participants build confidence in recognising cardiac rhythms and interpreting ECGs in real-world clinical settings.

The course covers key principles from correct electrode placement and identifying common artefacts to recognising arrhythmias, ischaemia, and conduction abnormalities.

Delivered by an experienced Resus Council instructor, this training is suitable for clinicians and non-clinical staff working in primary care, urgent care, and community settings who wish to enhance their ECG interpretation skills.

Course content includes:

  • ECG electrode placement and lead positioning

  • Recognising and avoiding artefacts

  • Identifying arrhythmias and conduction abnormalities

  • Recognising ischaemia and infarction patterns

  • Case-based interpretation and clinical discussion

Duration: 2–3 hours (depending on group size and learning needs)
Assessment: Continuous trainer observation and feedback
Certification: Respire Medical Services certificate of attendance
CPD: Recognised as 2–3 hours of verifiable CPD

Workplace First Aid & Basic Life Support

This course equips staff with the essential skills and confidence to respond effectively to medical emergencies in the workplace. It’s suitable for all employees — from office teams to frontline workers — and can be tailored to your specific environment and risk profile.

Delivered by an experienced paramedic, the session combines practical, scenario-based learning with current best practice in emergency response.

Course content includes:

  • Adult Basic Life Support (CPR) and AED use

  • Unconscious casualty management (recovery position)

  • Choking recognition and management

  • Bleeding control, minor injuries, and burns

  • Anaphylaxis and auto-injector use

  • Recognising and responding to heart attack, stroke, and seizure

Duration: 3–4 hours (depending on group size and workplace needs)
Assessment: Continuous observation and feedback
Certification: Respire Medical Services certificate valid for 3 years

First Aid & Resuscitation for the Public

A friendly, practical course designed for parents, carers, community members, and individuals who want to learn how to act confidently in an emergency.

Taught by an experienced paramedic, this hands-on session focuses on simple, lifesaving actions anyone can perform before professional help arrives. It can be delivered 1-to-1 or in small group sessions at your home, workplace, or community venue.

Course content includes:

  • CPR and AED use for adults, children, and infants

  • Choking management

  • Unconscious casualty care and recovery position

  • Bleeding, burns, and minor injuries

  • Recognising heart attack, stroke, and anaphylaxis

  • When and how to call for help effectively

Duration: 2–3 hours (flexible)
Format: 1-to-1 or small group (up to 8 participants)
Certification: Respire Medical Services certificate of attendance
